Change involves the loss of many things: pride, vanity, greed, lust, etc. It often involves suffering. "Refined through fire" I believe that is what you experienced after the red pill. Is it not what Neo experienced too? The loss of illusions precedes acceptance? In my life journey, I have found faith- but it has been tested beyond all belief. In perspective, though, I would not change it. But, it is not for everyone. Going deeper requires effort, change/loss and many people prefer to skim the surface of life rather than change/loss. If you believe:
